EMC / EMI
Engineers dealing with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and
electromagnetic interference (EMI) may have to address a wide range of,
usually unwanted, phenomena, with respect to the origin of the perturbation
as well as to the corresponding frequency range. In order to perform EMC or
EMI analysis, static or low frequency fields, e.g. from mains, electrostatic
discharge or lighting strikes, emissions from your own design or from devices in
the neighborhood, may need to be taken into consideration.
The versatility of available solvers and ability to import and handle
very complex geometries make CST MICROWAVE STUDIO® (CST MWS) indispensable
when dealing with EMC/EMI issues.
CST MICROSTRIPES™(CST MS) is perfectly suited to efficiently tackle shielding
problems. CST MS' compact models can characterize structural features like air vents, metallic
sheets, thin films, but also cables with a minimum of additional computational effort.
Both tools are able to import currents on boards and cables calculated in
CST PCB STUDIO™(CST PCBS) and CST CABLE STUDIO™(CST CS), which might
be the source of radiated emissions.
CST EM STUDIO®(CST EMS) covers your EMC needs in for low frequency applications.
